I had a great day in the workshop on Sunday with Stephanie and Alan, helping them create their own wedding rings.
Stephanie and Alan came for an initial meeting to talk through ideas and designs, including the type of metal for their rings and to measure their ring sizes. Once this was all decided I was able to order the metal at cost from my supplier, and we booked a date for their Wedding Ring Workshop.
As neither of them had any previous experience of working with metal they were worried their rings wouldn't look professional, but I reassured them I'd be there to guide them every step of the way.
On the day, they would have a trial-run in copper to learn the techniques involved and give them confidence before starting on their actual wedding rings.
Stephanie was making her ring in 9ct white gold and Alan had chosen silver for his. As Stephanie's engagement ring had a central ruby with diamonds on either side, we had to shape her wedding ring so that it fitted snugly. Alan decided to texture his ring using a hammer, and they decided on a personal message for the inside of their rings, which they managed by using letter punches.
The day was a huge success and I'm pleased to say they were over the moon with their finished rings!
